of Diamonds, Fish & Super Glue

I lost one of my diamond ear rings...in the lake...and it's probably been eaten by a fish who thought it looked tasty.

I'm not exactly sure when it happened, but on Monday afternoon after hours of swimming, skiing, and jumping off the side of the boat my hand reached up and the ear ring was gone...my heart sank and I gasped! My mom's response? "What are you doing wearing diamond ear rings in a lake?" Good question!!!! I have daily worn those ear rings since JP bought them for me before his last deployment. I thought since they had the twist on back they would stay on. And to be honest, the thought to take them out never even crossed my mind since I wear them all the time.

I contemplated going out and buying fake ones that looked similar so I wouldn't have to tell JP...I'm serious! When JP buys something it's a labor of love. Research, shopping around, making sure they are the perfect ones...his love language is gift giving, and I truly didn't want to hurt him.

Well, I decided against faking him out and moved on to the perfect approach. Then yesterday morning he swung the door wide open for me. He approached me with some bad news of his own...an expensive speeding ticket. So I took the opportunity, and shared my own bad news.

And what a sweet husband I have...he took it great! Not only that, but last night he came home with a small white box containing another pair. And he didn't try to make me feel guilty at all!!! It was like he was giving the first pair to me...with anticipation that I would like them.

Am I spoiled or what? No, Olivia and I are both blessed by his gift giving. It's almost like he can't not get us gifts. Everyday Olivia runs to the door asking for her present. Sometimes it's a handful of honeysuckles for them to enjoy. Other times it's just a kiss on the cheek. One time it was a turtle he had spotted on the side of the road that he brought home to show Olivia, and then together they returned it to the pond. Whether the gifts are free or at times paid for, we daily know he is thinking about us and trying to find ways to delight us!!!

So, now I have 3 diamond ear rings (he bought the new ones to match as closely as possible to the original one...just in case). I told him I wasn't going to wear them every day anymore; but I think he really wants me to...he said we could super glue them on (o:
